Crossing Sahara from Acacus massif to Ouan Kassa sand dunes
9 October 2007
Last trips inside the Acacus massif in the Sahara desert to discover additional paintings and graffiti, before driving the enormous sand dunes of Ouan Kassa erg.
The day starts with a visit to an archaeological site containing paintings in two colors.
Another site with two nice elephants, very well sculptured and preserved.
A wind scorpion, so called because it moves very quickly. It isn't poisonous like other scorpions.
Other paintings inside a cave.
Bizzarre rock formations.
Very nice and well preserved paintings. The painting on the left represents an hunting scene.
We stop at a Tuareg camp.
A chamaleon.
We finally reach Ouan Kassa, with its huge orange sand dunes.
The sand is very fine and often looks like a liquid.
